A Life Shaped by Ballet
Myriam’s training took her beyond the familiar and into studios where ballet was approached as both an art and a serious education.
Through years of professional training, performance, international study, and continued teacher education, she came to understand that beautiful dancing is never built through talent alone.
It is built through carefully developed foundations, musical intelligence, resilience, humility, and the willingness to return each day ready to learn something more.
Just as importantly, she learned how deeply a teacher can influence the way a young dancer sees themselves. A correction can create fear, or it can create understanding. High expectations can make a child feel inadequate, or they can reveal a strength the child did not yet know they possessed.
Those lessons became the heart of the school she would later create.
Building a School in Miami
Ayala Royal Ballet was founded in Miami with a simple mission: to offer children serious classical ballet training in an environment that remained warm, encouraging, and deeply personal.
What began as a ballet school steadily grew into a community of dancers, families, teachers, and young artists across Miami.
With every new class and location came the same responsibility: to ensure that each student received more than choreography to remember or steps to repeat. They needed a clear pathway, thoughtful instruction, and teachers who understood that the order in which a dancer learns truly matters.
The school became known not only for performances, but for the attention given to the daily work behind them: placement, posture, musicality, coordination, discipline, confidence, and the patient development of sound technique.
A Deeper Educational Pathway
As the school evolved, so did its purpose.
Myriam’s work with the American Ballet Theatre® National Training Curriculum brought greater clarity and structure to the educational journey of every dancer.
The curriculum affirmed something she had long believed: young dancers should not be rushed toward difficult movement simply because it looks impressive. They should first be given the physical understanding, coordination, strength, artistry, and confidence required to perform it safely and meaningfully.
Every plié prepares something. Every tendu teaches something. Every level should connect logically to the one that follows.
Through this framework, the school developed a more transparent progression from a child’s earliest experience with music and movement through advanced classical training, pointe work, performance, and pre-professional study.
Why We Became a Conservatory
Becoming Ayala Ballet Conservatory is not simply a change in presentation. It is the recognition of what the school has grown to become and the direction in which it is continuing to move.
A conservatory is defined by intention.
By an educational pathway in which every stage has a purpose. By thoughtful placement and developmentally appropriate training. By teachers who remain students of their own craft. By artistic standards that never forget the human being behind the dancer.
The conservatory reflects our commitment to offering families something deeper than a menu of classes. It offers a complete journey through classical ballet education, where technique and artistry grow together and every student is given the opportunity to develop with honesty and care.

Myriam believes that high standards and kindness should never be considered opposites.
Children can be asked to work with discipline while still feeling safe. They can receive precise corrections without losing confidence. They can be challenged to improve while knowing that their value is not measured by how quickly they advance.
At Ayala Ballet Conservatory, every dancer is expected to grow, but no two dancers are expected to follow an identical path.
Our faculty considers the student in front of us: their body, maturity, experience, learning style, temperament, and dreams. The standards remain strong, but the route toward them is taught with intelligence, patience, and respect.
Artistry from the Beginning
We believe children should never have to choose between imagination and discipline.
In the earliest classes, stories, music, rhythm, and creative movement invite children into the world of dance. As their education becomes more structured, that imagination is not removed. It becomes the bridge that leads toward musicality, intention, expression, and artistry.
The goal is not simply to produce dancers who can complete difficult steps. It is to guide dancers who understand their movement, hear the music, connect with an audience, and have something meaningful to express.
Opening More Doors
The creation and continued growth of Brickell City Arts Foundation extends a mission that is deeply personal to Myriam.
Having experienced the life-changing power of scholarships herself, she understands that opportunity can alter the course of a young artist’s life.
Through scholarships, outreach, performances, and community partnerships, the foundation will help make exceptional arts education available to more children throughout Miami.
Talent should be nurtured wherever it is found. Financial circumstances should not be the only factor determining whether a child is given the chance to discover what they may become.

Today, Ayala Ballet Conservatory is home to dancers taking their very first steps, students preparing for examinations and performances, young artists pursuing advanced training, and adults returning to a love of ballet.
Each enters the studio with a different story.
Our responsibility is to meet them there, guide them forward, and give them training worthy of their trust.
We are building a conservatory where children are known, families feel they belong, teachers continue to learn, and excellence is pursued with both courage and humanity.

Ayala Ballet Conservatory began with a love for classical ballet and a conviction that exceptional training should never be separated from genuine care.
Long before there was a school, there was a young dancer named Myriam Ayala Frederick, growing up in Mexico with a deep desire to learn, perform, and understand the art of ballet at its highest level.
Scholarships opened doors to training and experiences that might otherwise have remained out of reach. Those opportunities shaped not only Myriam’s life as a dancer, but also her understanding of what education can make possible when talent is met with guidance, discipline, and belief.
