Pre-Primary marks the beginning of a child’s structured ballet education. Guided by the American Ballet Theatre® National Training Curriculum, students are introduced to the first principles of classical technique, musicality, ballet vocabulary, and classroom etiquette through thoughtful, age-appropriate instruction.
As imagination continues to inspire each class, young dancers begin developing the focus, coordination, confidence, and discipline that form the foundation of every accomplished artist. Every exercise is carefully designed to encourage healthy movement patterns, nurture artistic expression, and prepare students for the next stage of their conservatory journey.
Within a warm and encouraging environment, children discover that excellence is not achieved all at once, but through small, intentional steps taken with curiosity, patience, and joy. Tuition and Registration
One Day per Week $160/month
Two Days per Week $250/month
Three Days per Week $350/month
A non-refundable $100 registration fee and $90 uniform fee are due upon enrollment.
Placement
Students are placed in the appropriate level based on their age, previous experience, and faculty recommendation. Our goal is to ensure every dancer begins in a class where they feel confident, challenged, and supported.
No audition is required for The Lower School classes.
Enrollment
Enrollment is limited to maintain small class sizes and provide thoughtful, individualized instruction.
Registration is accepted on a rolling basis as space permits. Once a class reaches capacity, students will be placed on a waitlist and contacted when an opening becomes available.
Dress Code
Students must wear the official Ayala Ballet Conservatory uniform assigned to their level.

The dress code promotes discipline and unity while allowing teachers to observe alignment and movement clearly.

What is a Pre-Primary ballet class?
Pre-Primary is an introduction to structured classical ballet education for children ages 4 and 5. Through thoughtfully guided exercises, music, imaginative movement, and age-appropriate ballet vocabulary, students develop coordination, musicality, balance, confidence, and classroom independence. Imagination remains part of the journey, becoming the bridge that leads young dancers toward artistry.
What age is Pre-Primary ballet designed for?
Pre-Primary is designed for children ages 4 and 5 who are ready to participate independently in a more structured ballet class. Placement may also consider a child’s previous experience, maturity, and stage of development.
Does my child need previous ballet experience?
No previous ballet experience is required. Pre-Primary welcomes beginners while also supporting children progressing from Pre-Ballet. Each student is guided with patience, encouragement, and thoughtful attention to their individual development.
What will my child learn in Pre-Primary ballet?
Students are introduced to the foundations of classical ballet technique, musicality, posture, coordination, spatial awareness, ballet vocabulary, and classroom etiquette. Each exercise is carefully designed to establish healthy movement patterns while nurturing confidence, creativity, and a genuine love of learning.
How does Pre-Primary prepare children for Primary A?
Pre-Primary develops the focus, coordination, musical understanding, independence, and foundational technique students need before entering Primary A. This thoughtful progression prepares children for the beginning of more formal study through the American Ballet Theatre® National Training Curriculum.
Where are Pre-Primary ballet classes offered in Miami?
Ayala Ballet Conservatory offers children’s ballet classes at select campuses throughout Miami, including Brickell, Coconut Grove, Miami Beach, and Edgewater. Class availability may vary by location and season. Families may review the campus schedule on this page to find the class that best fits their needs.
How much do Pre-Primary ballet classes cost?
Tuition begins at $160 per month for one class per week.
Two classes per week are available for $250 per month.
Three classes per week are available for $350 per month.

What should my child wear to Pre-Primary ballet?
Pre-Primary students wear the official Ayala Ballet Conservatory uniform assigned to their level, pink and white ankle socks, and pink canvas ballet shoes. Hair should be secured neatly in a classical ballet bun. The Lower School dress code creates a sense of belonging and allows teachers to observe posture, alignment, and movement clearly.
What if my child is shy or hesitant to participate?
Every child enters the studio with a different temperament. Some are ready to dance immediately, while others prefer to observe before joining. Our faculty creates a warm and encouraging environment where children are given the patience, reassurance, and gentle guidance they need to develop confidence at their own pace.
